The Smithsonian presents an all-day "Discover Jazz" program, featuring lectures, exhibits, and live performances -- I will perform at 3pm as part of the "Jazz Alive" segment, joined by Marshall Keys (sax), Chris Grasso (piano), and Zack Pride (bass). From the website: "[Seikaly, Keys, Grasso and Pride] join forces to demonstrate some of the key techniques of jazz musicians and perform tributes to Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and Herbie Hancock." This segment is presetned by Dr. John Hasse, curator emeritus at the American History Museum, founder of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, and Duke Ellington’s biographer. Tickets for the entire day are $90 for Smithsonian members, and $140 for non-members. The program takes place at The Smithsonian American History Museum.
